Dia de Los Muertos at Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden
We just had the most amazing time at our first ever Dia de Los Muertos event, and we couldn't wait to share all the details with you. For those of you who don't know, Dia de Los Muertos, or Day of the Dead, is a vibrant and colorful Mexican holiday that celebrates and honors our dearly departed. It's a time to remember and cherish our loved ones who have passed away, but in a fun and festive way. Think of it as Halloween's cooler, more stylish cousin.
Now, you might be wondering why we're so excited about this event. Well, let us tell you, it was a match made in heaven (or should we say, the afterlife?). The Virginia Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden gave us the incredible opportunity to participate in this spooktacular celebration on October 28th, and we had an absolute blast!
A Celebration of Culture and Richmond, Virginia
Richmond, Virginia is a melting pot of cultures, and we couldn't be prouder to be a part of this vibrant community. Dia de Los Muertos allowed us to showcase the beauty and richness of Hispanic culture, and we were overwhelmed by the love and support we received from everyone who stopped by our tent to say hello.
The atmosphere was electric, with vibrant colors, lively music, and delicious food filling the air. We were surrounded by stunning altars, adorned with marigolds, candles, and photographs of loved ones. It was a truly magical experience, and we're so grateful to have been a part of it.
New Designs and Best Sellers
Now, let's talk about the real stars of the show - our new designs! We unveiled 3 eye-catching, jaw-dropping creations that were inspired by the spirit of Dia de Los Muertos. Sugar skulls, one with intricate floral patterns, our designs were a feast for the eyes.
The design that stole the show and became our best seller of the weekend was the marigold sugar skull. This stunning piece combined the vibrant colors of marigolds, a traditional flower used in Dia de Los Muertos celebrations, with the intricate details of a sugar skull. It was a true work of art, and we were thrilled to see so many people falling in love with it.
